Advertising/sales representative wanted

Pierce County Community Newspapers is looking for an Advertising/Sales Representative in Tacoma, Wash (a city of nearly 200,000 located 30 miles south of Seattle). We have four thriving community newspapers serving Tacoma, Fife, Milton/Edgewood, and the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.  
Candidates must have experience selling, managing and development of new businesses, as well as maintaining existing customers. This positions requires creating presentations, setting appointments, developing needs assessments, selling proposals, and maintaining existing customers while prospecting for new business. 

REQUIREMENTS: B.A. in marketing, business, communication strongly preferred. Two (2) years of prior sales experience, preferably newspaper, media, online, and special section experience. Must be self motivated, outgoing individual with the ability to work with the public and advertisers. You should have a good understanding of all facets of newspaper operations with emphasis on sales and marketing. You should also have strong internet and social media skills and be well-suited to working with government, community groups and clients in creating effective advertising.

Copy Editor

We need a talented copy editor/designer for our excellent midsize daily. We're looking for an innovative candidate with keen news judgment who can edit stories, write headlines and cutlines and design and paginate attractive news and feature pages under deadline pressure.
